I took advantage of the 60% off deal for Macromedia exams and took the Flash MX 2004 Developer exam today just for the thrill (pressing that button at the end is fun, eh?) and passed it!
I had looked on the Macromedia site and found that there were less than 60 people in the US listed as having passed the exam over the last nine months.. which told me it wasn’t going to be easy. I had passed the FLash 5 Developer exam eons ago, and still remembered some of the impossible questions that were on it. I barely studied.. I basically just went to see what was on the exam.
So when I went into the testing center I was expecting to be greeted with a horribly written exam.. but I was most pleasantly surprised. I can’t recall any true false questions, no “which of the following is NOT a ...” questions, I don’t recall any “all of these will work, but which is the BEST way of doing xx”, and I can’t recall any questions that I thought had more than one correct answer. The few questions that I had to totally guess at were Flash features that I simply don’t use. There were very few “trivia” questions.. nice.
So hats off to Matt Voerman and the others who wrote the exam.. good job folks.
oh.. and I got 100% on two of the four content areas..
