This site is my personal spot for notes and things learned (and sometimes relearned) the hard way, news about Flash technologies, and some general ranting now and then.

About me:
I've been a "rich media" contractor for Cisco since the Summer of 2002 and have worked to create interactive and simulative content for the Cisco certifications and Networking Academy.

A few things I've done in the Flash world:
- Started tinkering in Flash in 1998
- Technical editor on two Macromedia Press Flash certification books
- Spoken at a FlashForward conference
- Spoken at a FlashKit conference
- Certified Flash MX2004 developer
- Been on quite a few Macromedia betas
- Taught semester long and short courses on Flash through community colleges

Things I would probably find some time to do if offered:
- Teach a weekend Flash course
- Technical editing on a Flash or ActionScript book

Things I'm not interested in at the moment
- Side jobs. I have a full time job, kids, hobbies, etc. The last thing I need is another reason to sit in front of a computer.
- A different full time job. I like what I'm doing, I like the people I work with, I work from home.. so no, I'm not interested in a startup.

About the site:
Oddhammer.com started out on a Blogger account in 2000 and moved to it's own domain in 2002. The site (as of 11/2007) receives over 200,000 page views per month and over 2,000 unique visitors per day.

About the name:
A big part of being a Flash worker (especially in the early days) was being stubborn and being a bit of a hacker. Many a seasoned coder threw their hands up in disgust when confronted with the Timeline, sparse debugging, and ActionScript. A friend in IT used to say she would "shake a chicken foot" over a server to invoke the right voodoo to get it working. Well, I invoke that special voodoo over Flash with a hammer.
